i saw Jesus in nicaragua.
yesterday i saw Him in a community called
Candelaria
in
Maria the grandma who watches over the goats at the mission
in
Leo the professional baseball player who got tricked in to coming to nicaragua
and has since become a chrisitan and teaches young boys how to play baseball
in
Alejandro the farmer who showed us how to make the holes and told us to put
exactly four kernels of corn in each one
in
Lydia the five-year-old who shyly played around me as we planted
in
Scarlett as she tried to do a flip in Caitlin’s arms
in
the little boys who played soccer with the most deflated soccer ball i’ve ever
seen
in
Pastor Walter as he described to us some of the problems in his community:
hunger, lack of education, prostitution, fatherless families
in
Renee and Jenn as they jumped in to the little boys baseball practice/scrimmage
and played with them
in
Caitlin as she faithfully followed the planters around, dropping her four corn
kernels in each hole.
today i saw Jesus in a tiny village off
the pan-american highway called Santa Matilde
in
Mario as he volunteered to drive us to this “dangerous” area and stay
with us
in
Carlos who came out to where we’re staying today to visit with his mom and
instead came along and helped interpret for us
in
Pastor Walter as he waited for us and then directed us in to the village on his
bicycle
in
Carmen as she showed me her house and pictures of her two beautiful daughters
and as she patiently walked around the village with us
in
the lady from church who was sick and so readily invited us in to pray for
healing over her body
in
the church members who followed us around their town and then prayed with us
for blessings of heath over their church, the blessing of land to put a
building on, and blessings over
their community
Jesus is everywhere. did you see Him today?
