Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters,

This letter is regarding the support letters I sent out last September about my trip to the World Race. I wanted to update you on what has been happening in my life since then. I’ll be leaving in just four short months, and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in my life and the lives of my teammates as we take on the world for Him.

So many things have been happening since I was accepted to this trip last August. As most of you know, I was originally planning on leaving in July, and if you’ve been calculating months, you’re probably scratching your heads right now because that’s less than four months away. Well, Adventures in Missions (AIM) decided to combine the teams that were formed for the April and July trips and have them leave in June instead, and that didn’t work for me so I switched to the September team. This left me wondering what to do with my summer, but God has definitely provided and I will be working as the health officer at Grace Adventures (a Christian youth camp near Silver Lake in Michigan) for the summer.

I will be graduating from Trinity Christian College this Saturday, May 19, and am very excited about that as well. I will have a bachelors of science degree in nursing (that’s BSN in short-hand) and will have to take my state test sometime this summer to become a registered nurse before I leave for my trip around the world.

God has been blessing my socks off with the support I’ve received so far. I already have 26 people who have supported me; many who have said they are praying for me as well. I have been encouraged to build a strong prayer support team for this trip of people that will pray for me every day from now until after I return home. If you would like to be one of my prayer supporters, please email me at

with your email address so that I can send out specific prayer updates to you. Right now I would like to ask for prayers for my teammates, especially as the team for September is still being formed. Pray for safety and health for all of us as we have four months yet before we leave. Please also be in prayer for those we will minister to along the way, that God will begin preparing their hearts and opening up ministry opportunities for us. Finally, please be in prayer for my financial support. So far I have been blessed with $6155.50 of the $13,000 that I need – almost halfway there! Before I leave in September I need to have $6500 cash in my account and the other $6500 in pledges, so pray that God will continue to provide financial support for me as well.

I want to introduce you all to an amazing tool I’ve been given for this next year – my blog site (you’re reading it right now…it’s it cool?). The web address is
http://rebeccawiltjer.theworldrace.org

, and I’ll be posting updates on this site throughout the course of the trip. I’ll also load pictures on to the site so you can not only read about what I’m doing, but see things as well. Once I find out who all my teammates are, I’ll put links to their sites on mine as well so that when I can’t update you’ll be able to read what they post. There is also a link on my blog to support me via credit card online if any of you feel called to do so – it’s
red
and on the left side and says “Support Me” – it’s very quick and easy and I would really appreciate any support you can give.

Thank you all so much for coming along on this journey with me. I praise God for all of you and know that I would not be able to do this trip without you all by my side. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to serve!

in His grip,

Becky Wiltjer
