I love elephants. When I was in India two years ago, I had the opportunity to ride one bareback (okay, so I wasn’t by myself and the elephant was being led the whole time, but I still loved it!), so you can probably guess how excited I was when we had the opportunity to go see a whole bunch of elephants today and possibly ride them as well. Yahoo!!!!
We ended up at an Elephant training center, and it seemed like everywhere you went there was another elephant to see. They even did a show, complete with balancing stunts, elephant darts (the elephant threw the darts), elephant massages (you lie down and the elephant steps on your bottom and gives a bit of a massage), soccer and basketball, and my favorite, sitting on the trunk of the elephant (maybe it was my favorite because I got to do it FOR FREE!! – Don’t worry, pictures will be coming soon.) After the show, we did get aforementioned elephnant ride in as well…athough it was in a seat and not bareback .
After leaving the elphant show, we headed over to the Silk Village to see some of their wares …and it was absolutely beautiful and incredible and I loved it. I didn’t buy any silk because it’s expensive and it weighed a lot to ship back home to the states. But I did buy a super cute sleeveless shirt…once again, pictures coming later.
P.s. Our host said he wanted to wear us out the first couple days so that we’d be tired enough to sleep at night – still working on getting over that jet lag!
