Towards the end of training camp after many team building activities, feedback sessions, and a lot of prayer our squad of 60ish people was divided into 10 smaller teams. I have no doubt that God handpicked each team, and He has GREAT things in store for each of us!
Why team Arrow you ask? Well, let me share with you why we chose an arrow to represent our team! This was not a decision we came to right away, it took a little while to find something that encompassed our essence and purpose as a team.

As a team we decided that every moment of our lives need to be lived intentionally , that no moment would go to waste. An arrow must be shot intentionally in order to reach it’s target. As a team we realized that we were all specifically designed and made by our Creator to do GREAT things in His name! An arrow must be precisely and specifically designed in order to fly straight towards the target. As a team we felt like our purpose was to bring light into the darkness of this world, like an arrow of light piercing the darkness. As a team we also like that the word arrow brings about the image of a battle, because our purpose is to fight off the darkness in order to release God’s Kingdom in this world. We believe that God will draw us from his quiver of hope and use us to pierce the darkness, delievering blow after blow to the devil over the next 11 months! I can’t wait to spend the next 11 months with this amazing team that God has handpicked!
Mary our fearless leader! She has such a sweet and joyful spirit! She has a true servant’s heart and is always speaking life into our lives. You can’t help but smile when you are around her, because she radiates Christ’s love and joy! I feel so blessed to follow her as we travel the world and see her continue to grow into the leader the Lord has called her to be!
Tracy stepped up to serve our team by being our finance person! Apart from having a servant’s heart, she is an amazing listener! She is quick to listen and slow to speak, so when she does speak her words are full of wisdom and truth! (this is an area that I need to improve upon, so I can’t wait to learn how to be a better listener over the next 11 months by following her example) I can’t wait to see the Lord work through her sweet spirit!
Lindsay brings such a wonderful passion to our team! Her heart for loving and building relationships with God’s children around the world radiates in everything she does. You can’t help but feel at peace when you are around her because she always has a positive attitude! She also speaks fluent Spanish (which she will deny, but to all of us she is fluent : ) ), which is going to be such a wonderful asset during our first few months!
Dexter a.k.a. Dex is the thinker of the group. He likes to think through things and get to the bottom of things, which is such a wonderful quality! When he gives an answer or voices his opinion it is full of wisdom and clearly thought over. He has such a passion for pursuing the Lord and living out the life that God has called him to. He is such an amazing man of God and I can’t wait to see him continue to grow over the next year! I know the Lord has crazy things in store for the next 11 months, and I can’t wait to see them happen!
Phil is the technical person of our team (thank goodness because we all know I have no technical skills!) and he also knows how to fly planes, so I feel extra safe traveling alongside him over the next 11 months! He is a wonderful example of what a man of God should be! He is so caring and compassionate, and is always putting others above himself. I know the Lord is going to do great things through him, which I can’t wait to see play out over the course of the race!
I am SO pumped and excited to share this journey with so many amazing, passionate people!
More to come about training camp, but I just wanted to give you a little glimpse of who I would be sharing my life with for the next 11 months!
