So it has been a whirlwind the past few days. We got to spend time with our squad in Anitgua, Guatemala which was amazing!!! I got to explore Antigua a little bit more than the last time I was in Guatemala which I really enjoyed. We hiked an active volcano named Pacaya (it was the one that erupted earlier this year…which was a really comforting thought haha). We had the option of either paying to ride a horse up to the top or hiking up. Y’all know how cheap I am, so I chose not to pay for a horse…I was regretting that decision right after we started. It was probably the hardest hike I have ever done in my entire life. There were a couple of points where I thought there is no way I can keep going. Not only am I super out of shape but I am also not used to the altitude, so those two things combined made for a long and hard hike (about a 3 hour hike up)

I would not have made it up to the top of the mountain without the encouragement and help from my amazing squad mates. There were SO many people who encouraged me step by step and were SO patient with me. It was such an incredible bonding moment as a squad and as a family. Once I pushed through and made it to the top, the view was beyond beautiful. Pictures don’t even do the view justice. We were only 3 days into the race and already hiked an active volcano….really? Is this my life? Going back down was a little challenging. The volcanic rock was really loose…so of course I fell BUT I only fell once. I had quite a few more almost falls where I recovered. I think we counted 40 something, but hey the only thing that matters is that I only fell once.

The day before our volcano hike we found out where we were going to be doing ministry for the month. To all of our surprise, my team and another team (rooted 19:30) will be doing ministry in Honduras for the month. A lot of you know that I was super excited to be in Guatemala for our first month, so at first I was kind of bummed about it. However the Lord revealed to me that He had me in Guatemala for a few days to remind me of what He did in my heart in just one week. He revealed to me that He has SO much in store for me in SO many more countries. I am super pumped and excited now to be in Honduras for the month! As I mentioned in my previous blog, they told us to set aside all of our expectations and to stand with our hands open. I can’t wait to get started with ministry this month! Thank you SO much for all your prayer support and financial support! Although I have been SO blessed with support I am still not fully funded. So please consider becoming a part of this journey, by clicking the support me tab to the left hand side.
