Honestly…

When I was traveling to Asia three months ago, I had no idea what to expect.

One of the most overwhelming feelings of anxiety I have had on The World Race was in the middle of the flight when I was switching continents for the fourth time. We had gone from North America to South America, South America to Europe, Europe to Africa, and then… Africa to Asia. And I was terrified (though this photo doesn‘t show it).

I grew up with a close friend from Colombia, and a close friend from Kenya… From their stories, I “knew what to expect.” I was at least partially familiar with the cultures I would encounter in those countries and continents, and they let me know what to expect to encounter.
As I boarded the international flight to Asia, I realized for the first time that I was absolutely terrified, and that I literally had no idea what I was getting myself into… and that scared me tremendously.

But I went anyways. I trusted that God had my back, even though my emotions didn’t line up with that sentiment at all. And I sat through the long flights as anxiety flooded my entire being.

Then. I landed in Singapore in an incredibly beautiful airport. And I ended up spending one month of my life in Malaysia, and it ended up being one of the best months of my entire life. And all the anxiety quickly turned into amazement as the breathtaking views of Asia became my reality.

I type all of this to just remind everyone DON’T BE AFRAID TO DO THINGS THAT TERRIFY YOU. Jesus has got you. Terrifying things can end up being the sweetest adventures of your entire life.

Asia has been my FAVORITE continent of The Wold Race, and I cannot wait to share more stories with you. Stay tuned for more stories of my crazy life & adventures 🙂
