Hey there, I'm Rebecca. What to cover in an "About Me" post….
The Basics:
*Most of my friends and fam call me Becky. I am 23 and am from Clearwater, FL but now reside in Northern VA during this very blessed season. I am the second child of four super awesome kids. I went to college at UNF where I majored in Spanish and English and met some of the coolest Jesus lovers on the planet. I spent the past year working with AmeriCorps NCCC (basically domestic PeaceCorps meets RoadRules).
Random Facts:
* I just became a God Mother and Aunt which is a super awesome honor.
* I am alergic to cats, rabbits, and llamas (spent a summer in Peru)
* I have a strange affinity for weird ethnic food, the stranger the better. I get a kick out of the challenge. Some of the top contenders I have tried are grass hopper, guinea pig, chicken foot, cactus and jelly fish.
* I feel closest to God when I am outside in His beautiful creation.
* I have a birth mark on my arm that I call my "Jesus Kiss" cause it is in the shape of lips. Although, my sister is convinced it is a peanut and my mother argues it is Peru. It is my arm so Jesus Kiss stands.
The Important Stuff, The Marrow:
*I grew up in a Christian household but didn't really start living for the Lord until I was 19. The transition from living like I was saved ("Yeah I got a ticket to heaven") to living like I was called ("Crap, God just called me by name and says He knows me and loves me and that I have a lot of stuff to do for Him")
*God grew me the most by putting me in a leadership role over women, where I felt totally unprepared but had no choice but to rely on Him and just teach other women what He was teaching me.
*My favorite book of the Bible is Isaiah, verse being Isaiah 49:14-16. These words changed my life and ripped shame and unworthiness out of my life. The thought of God looking down at His hands and seeing my name written there… whoa. Mind officially blown.
*My hearts desire is to just know His heart. To get close to it and to be changed by it and to share it with others. I know this world is dying of a thirst that only the Love of God can satisfy. I have gotten a taste and just can't keep it for myself.
