Funny how the one month we have access to internet seems to be the time when I'm blogging the least! Ah, well, I will attempt to resolve that here. I know that some of you have been watching the news and are wondering if we're snowed in here in Romania. Fortunately, my team is not located in the areas that you've seen. We do have snow, but, not 6 feet of it. And, yes, it was bitter cold when we first arrived. It's still pretty cold, but, hey, I did just spend three months in Africa!

Much of our ministry this month involves working with a local pastor here and doing prayer walks with him. I love getting to visit with the gypsy families here, although trekking through the snow to reach them is not usually a highlight of the day. Our favorite day so far involved being escorted through a nearby village by 15 or so children. As we crowded into each small, one-room home, we serenaded the families with various children's songs, a gesture that was soon reciprocated by the children that were with us. (P.S. There is a Romanian version of “Father Abraham.” I think. It was hard to tell!) It may not seem like much, visiting homes and praying with families, but, I'm humbly realizing that it means the world to them. Apart from the power and importance of our prayers, which I could write pages about, the act of visiting with people who are often ignored by their society sends a message both to them and their culture. They have worth. They have dignity. They are important. May we all remember that we are able to impart value simply by choosing to be present with people.

Team Ignition has had a couple of changes this month. We are thrilled to welcome Nick Hayden to our team, and Amaris has become team leader of Sound of Strength. Because Sound of Strength is living with us this month, it doesn't seem like Amaris is away from our family just yet (in fact, she's sitting 5 feet away from me as I type this), but, I can tell you that she will be a huge blessing to her new team and I'm going to miss her big time!!! As Ashley continues to remind our team, change is the only constant. Might I add, on the race, change seems to increase exponentially! Your prayers for smooth transitions for all of us are welcomed!
