We have made it to Peru!

We are into our first week of ministry here it San Salvador, Peru. We are on the far south side of Lima partnering with Iglesia Shalom. We are working closely with Bob, Becky and Kelsey Cooley, who are here through AIM as well.
This month looks pretty different than our other ministry sites. All of squad A (Team 61, LO, Yeti and Salt) are living in 2 houses and pretty much doing everything together. It is a bit of an adjustment after having so much freedom and independence in Guatemala, but I hope and pray that it will be good. Our partnering church is very excited to have us here and they have a packed schedule of stuff for us to participate in.
We led Sunday night’s worship service and I think it went very well. Jon, from Yeti, preached and a couple of us gave a testimony of how the Lord is working in our lives…including myself!

Yesterday we had an amazing opportunity to go into 2 schools and give a “drime” (wordless drama to music). It is called Ragman and it depicts Jesus as taking on the hurts and sins of the world. The people that participated did a great job and I think the kids had a better idea of who Jesus is and what He did for us after it. After the drime, Morgan, from Salt, presented the Gospel and a LOT of kids made professions of faith.

We have been visiting a nearby community, Lomo de Corvina, for the last few days as well. Iglesia Shalom is planting a sister church in the community and they already have cell groups meeting in homes together. We will actually start construction of the church building tomorrow!
As you can see, Peru is hungry for Jesus! Please continue to pray for us!
