Everyone has a past. A past full of people, choices, hurts, joys, misunderstandings, teachings, relationships, and loss that have helped to form the person they are today.
The Race has a way of putting one face to face with God so that together the Racer and God can look at the past. Suddenly lessons and teachings, words and verses, people and circumstances align and their purposes come into focus. Together the Racer and God can face hurts and root out lies. Together the Racer and God can rejoice in freedom and look with optimism and joy toward the future.
When I discover new truth or experience more freedom I cannot wait to share. I have been known to exuberantly spew to the first person I find. Without enough context or proper English or complete sentences (I have been known to explain a concept with “you know”), I will share what God is doing. Therefore, the Race blog is a wonderful platform to share what is happening as God and I travel the world. It helps me to clarify and clearly explain my thoughts and lets me share what He has been doing.
However, sometimes what He is doing is connected to others. Freedom comes from forgiving. Sometimes I need to forgive myself for choices made; sometimes I need to forgive others. Freedom comes when lies, curses, and vows are broken and rooted out. Vows are things I have foolishly committed or promised. Lies and curses are placed by the enemy. Sometimes others are connected to the lies and vows God is breaking.
Then blogging ain’t easy. Then sharing about my amazing, loving Father’s healing and truth can hurt those I love.
This blog is personal. It is a celebration of the work Papa is doing in me. Work to refine me and draw me closer. Work that will lead me to the Promised Land He has planned for me. That sweet place where the talents, passions, skills, and gifts He has given me meet His will and the ministry He has planned. I hope that what He is doing in my life encourages but…
This blog isn’t about you.
