Hey! I am so sorry I haven’t posted in a while. It’s been busy with school starting back. My summer was amazing. I was able to go home, spend time with family, and work in Columbia. I worked at the Mad Platter which is a paint your own pottery studio. As an art major in college, this was right up my alley and I had great hours. I am thankful that God provide this job for me over the summer, and I am planning up working there over Christmas to raise some more money for my trip. I also loved spending quality time with my amazing family. My mom, sister, and I got motivate to get in shape because I want to be fit for the World Race and carrying my backpack. At the end of the summer, the three of us ran a 5-k and did awesome. I am very proud of my mom and sister, as they kept me motivated this entire summer. Now I have to stay motivated while I am up at school.
Now I am back up at school for one final semester. I am an Art Education major at Anderson University, and I will be graduating early in December. This semester I am student teaching at TL Hanna High School in the art classroom. I choose to teach high schoolers because you can teach them real skills, techniques, and real world applications. It’s going to be a challenging semester as I have seven different classes that I will eventually be teaching. But I am ready for the challenge and it’s through those challenging days that I learn the most.
Huge Prayer Request: I am required to take the PLT (Principles of Learning and Teaching Exam) in order to get my teaching certification for Art K-12. Over my college years God has directed me to being an Art Education Major so I know that this is where I need to be. But I took the exam over the summer and made a 164 and SC requires a 165. I was one point away from passing. I know that there is a reason and purpose for everything that happens, but it is very disappointing to me as I have to retake this exam. I take it on September 17. So if you could be praying of me on that day that would be awesome.
Fundraising Up-Date: God is Good!!! I reach my August goal and now I am working on my personal October goal. I leave for the World Race Training Camp on October 14, and my goal is to have $10,500 in my support account by October 14th. God has provided for me this far and it’s only through God that I am here. I know that this is where I am suppose to be and there are no doubts, no what ifs, no worries. I am giving my future to God and He is showing me where I need to be. In order to meet my October goal, I still need to raise $1,578.88. It’s through you and I am able to go and share the love of Christ. But I need your help; I would love for you to partner with me in this journey of faith through prayer and financial support.
