Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church.  Worship is.  Missions exists because worship doesn’t.  Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man.  When this age is over, and the countless millions of the redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more.  It is a temporary necessity.  But worship abides forever.  –John Piper

I am in capitol of Swaziland – Manzini.
They have a King (not president).

Adoption is not allowed from this country at all.
It has been a closed country for 3 years now.

By the year 2050, this country will cease to exist due to the AIDs epidemic (and TB)

But sharing the gospel is welcomed.
In fact, everyone who you talk to will want to become a Christian
Because they are such a people pleasing society.

If a woman wears jeans, it will cause a drought.
If a woman wears short shorts, she is a lesbian.
Sooooo wearing skirts all month.

Always use your right hand, because your left hand is unclean.

It’s a women’s month.  All the women on the squad are together.
And then all the men are together about two hours away from us.

Yay for 26 girls living together in a 4 bedroom/2bathroom house in Swaziland.

It’s like a girls college dormroom all over again.
But being encouraged and called up daily.
             being challenged and learning consideration/patience

This month, we are working with AIM and Children’s Hope Chest.
Working at care points, playing with children, and teaching curriculum to teachers.

Care Points are safe places for children to go during the day and to receive a meal.
There is a preschool at each of the care points for kids 3 to 5 years old.
We are helping teach.  Students are learning the alphabet, colors, numbers…
All of the schools, from preschool to high school, are taught in English.

We are visiting the local hospital:
    Building relationships with relatives
Reading books to the children in the ward
               Learning names and telling stories
Just being there for the patients and families.
(I visit every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon!)

We live about 20 minutes walking distance from downtown.
We walk to the markets, stores, hospitals, and cafes.

The care point my team is at this month is about a 45 minute walk sooo
We hitchhiked this morning.  It ended up being a local missionary.

This month is crazy.  Crazy exciting.  But crazy hard.

Continue to remember me and my team in your prayers this month.  Thanks!
