These last few weeks have been quite the struggle for me while working on things for the race. I’ve found my mind wandering and not focusing on what needs to get done and letting myself fall into getting lazy with the Lord. I didn’t even realize how bad it had become until this morning when I came across Galatians 6:9. In ESV it reads, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
I first found out about the race about 5 years ago during my time getting ready for confirmation. I still remember coming across The World Race homepage and being overwhelmed with the feeling that I HAD to go on this trip as soon as I graduated college. I remember feeling energized and loved that God showed me something I couldn’t wait to do in his name.
As I read that verse, I could feel God telling me to read it again and really ponder on what he was trying to tell me. And then it clicked, I’ve been slacking. God is telling me right to my face that I need to get my booty in gear! It seems that since I’ve been praying about this trip for so long, that since it’s become a reality, I haven’t fully accepted that it’s happening in my heart and soul. But I think it finally clicked this morning. THIS IS HAPPENING!!! And I cannot wait to see what else God has planned.
So now it’s time to kick it into high gear and work and pray and sow that I can reap the wonderful things that God has in store for me!
