Excuse me, Can I just brag on my Lord for a second? Ok great.
It's only Novemeber and I don't leave for the Race until July. . .so. . .8 months until launch!
When I think about actually being in the field and working with my team and the people in each country I think, ask myself and wonder what kind of impact will we have on each other? What kind of impact will we have on the people? What will God do through us there? Typical questions I imagine every one preparing to go on this journey is asking.
But I never thought about asking those questions now. I never thought about the things God will do with just my simple decision to go before I even leave to go anywhere!!!
He has already done SO MUCH!!
Some things seem so simple, but when I think about them I realize how important they are. So many people have seen and responded to my deision to go on the Race. That in and of itself has provided a way for me to share with them my passion and what my team will most likely be doing.
To raise money I held 2 events to do hair one for a dance and one for a formal dinner that my college held. Most of the girls I was close to and knew very well, but I had some girls come in I had never met. They just saw my page and wanted their hair done so I really didn't know much about them or where they stood.
Naturally when they sat down and we began to talk and every person asked me questions about what I was exatly doing and why. This was SO awesome to me! I got to start sharing about Christ right there in my apartment!!!
Even if it was with strong believers there were some who had never even heard of the World Race and had no clue what it was. I had several girls light up when I told them about leaving the comforts of home to pursue God's calling and go on a journey around to world to share his love. To see that humbled me immediately. To realize that already God was using this to reach out to everyone non-believers and believers!! He was using me to speak to them!
So with my excitement of the interview process and being accepted I was posting on Facebook like crazy updating everyone who cared to follow.
After I was accepted to Route 3 I had a classmate/friend and former teammate Alex http://alexwarren.worldrace.org messaged me asking me what the World Race was and if I was really doing it and how cool it sounded. I just gave her the website and talked to her in class the next day
Before I knew it she was all in and applying for the Race!!! WHAT!??!??
This girl is smart. She was headed straight for PT school.
But once she found out about the Race and looked into the details she thought "THIS is what I want to do!!" She completely skipped out on applying to PT school and is now a fellow racer on Route 2 July 2013!!!
GOD IS SO GOOD!!
I'm so excited to see her go through the process and have someone else that I know to go through the preparation together and enourage one another!
Those are just few examples of how God is unfolding this whole entire thing. It's been nothing short of a miracle from the very beginning. I can only imagine what will happen when I'm gone!
I can only encourage others to follow Christ. Don't live a life of hesitation and doubt!!
Just surrender to Him even if you are uncertain of important details and have no lue how in the world anything could ever work out. Practice the faith you claim to believe in. Let go of your comforts.
I have seen that God will do amazing things that never even crossed your mind!
Once you witness them you'll wonder how in the world could you have ever been so silly to even question His plans for you.
