Hey,
I am so excited to tell you about how ministry has been going. The thing I love most about Africa is that people have time. There is a saying that Mzungu (white people) have the watch but the Africans have the time. So, if the Africans do not own a watch they follow the sun for time. My team was supposed to meet someone around nine but he showed up about an hour later. TIA 🙂 This has happened many times in the past two weeks I have been in Kenya and I am sure it shall continue. I guess it can be frustrating at times when our taxi doesn’t come right on time but what’s cool about it, is that it gives a leisurely feeling. I love being on African time because I have yet to be late to anything. Which if you know me really well, I am constantly late.  Africans take the time to stop and greet you where as in America it would just be a wave and we would go on our merry way.  At first I thought it was because I was white but as I observed the culture, I noticed greetings are incredibly important to them.

As for ministry, I have spent the better portion of the past week doing door to door ministry.  I was pretty nervous about doing door to door because in America once you mention the word God people shut the door. I truly believe that if I were to attempt doing ministry at home, I would be lucky if one person would let me come into their home and share the gospel. The subject of religion is taboo. Isn’t religion like the third topic not to discuss on a first date or at work BUT TELL YOU WHAT!!!! Africa is totally different. Africa is Free! Kenya is Free! God is Free to be spoken of here! In a two hour span, I am normally invited into five African homes, I share my testimony, I share the Gospel, I encourage them, I pray with them, and God works wonders. Oh and I’m invited to come back soon for fellowship. How cool is that??!!!  God is working here in Africa in a way that I never thought was possible but it makes me wonder if its really this easy everywhere. It makes me wonder why Africa is so different from America. Are Americans just smarter? Or been enlightened? Is it our culture? Is it our focus? Think about it… I’m not going to answer it now. Well, that’s it for now. Till next time….
