When I was first accepted for the World Race in August, I had felt a great sense of excitement over the prospect of traveling the world to further God’s kingdom. However, I would be lying if I said I didn’t have any reservations, the main one being the fact that I would have to raise $17,000 in such a short amount of time.
God reassured me that the funds would come, so instead of jumping right into fundraising I decided to take a week to pray for this process. I asked God to start preparing people’s hearts to help me reach this goal, to lead me to the people He wanted me to seek out, to grace me with an attitude of joy and a gracious heart, and most importantly, to not get so caught up in the act of fundraising that I would lose sight of God’s character and my desire for Him.
It’s only been a month since I sent out support letters and began telling people about my trip, and God has certainly outdone Himself with the results. In 30 days He has provided me with $10,600, far surpassing my expectations. It is such a humbling experience to be gifted with the trust and support people have given me with their finances. More importantly, I have felt the weight of God’s grace with each donation- something that is freely given out of love.
I would like to send out my love and gratitude to those of you who have supported me through donations as well as prayers. Your willingness to partner with me through this adventure has been the biggest blessing I could ever receive. I have adopted the habit of giving thanks to God for each and every one of you daily, as the giver is more than the gift, and God is more than the blessing.
I am so much closer to my end goal than I thought I would be at this point and am so excited to be able to take you with me on this journey!
