Our ministry this month was to pray, listen, and be led by God. We would spend time with Bukurija in prayer in the morning and evening. During the day, we would head to the beach to play soccer with kids or to play beach volleyball. We made friends with several people who lived in Ulcinj.
Ricky is a baker and sells bureks at a nearby bakery. Bessa is a cashier at the Maxi grocery store. Besim is a bartender. Daniella is Bukurija’s 3rd floor neighbor. Moni is a cab driver. God brought these people into our lives. We saw the need to pray for and to extend friendship to these people. I can’t wait to see where our time will lead with our new found friends.
One kind of ministry we are doing more of is the prophecy game, which is a ministry to build team members with prophetic words. The concept of the game is to draw names, but don’t look at the name, pray to the Lord, and listen to what He says or shows. Sometimes people get a word, a song, a vision, and whatever comes to mind, it gets written down on a piece of paper. After a set time, the prophetic words are handed or said out loud to the person who was picked. I have never done the prophecy game before I came on this race, but it’s been amazing to see and hear how God really speaks to His people. This type of ministry practices prophesying in the way Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 14:1,3:
“Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts, and above all that you may prophesy. . .the person who prophesies speaks to people for edification, encouragement, and consolation.”
