11 COUNTRIES. 11 OPPORTUNITIES.
To be CHANGED,
and change my
SURROUNDINGS.
The past couple days I have been asking myself why I'm doing the World Race. The obvious reasons jump out first-
1. MISSIONS– I love missions and know this trip is a stepping stone for my goal of doing full-time missions.
2. OBEDIENCE– I am walking in obedience in God's timing of doing this trip, though it meant sacrificing other plans [music].
3. TRANSFORMED PERSPECTIVE– As I travel the world, encountering various cultures and people groups, I know my perspective of the world will look VERY different a year from now; I'll be viewing a glimpse of the hardships people endure in 3rd world countries. I am ready to give up the blessings of American lifestyle and comforts and experience a taste of the struggles people face daily overseas that we often forget about in the U.S.
These are great reasons to do this trip, but I'm beginning to realize there is MUCH more to this trip than my mind can grasp. Part of this scares me, yet excites me. God is going to SHAKE the earth as we travel. He is going to transform lives and bring people to their knees in repentance and realization of their need for a SAVIOR. He is going to break strongholds and awaken broken hearts to be healed by His love. He is going to strengthen the body of believers world-wide to endure any pain or persecution for His name's sake.
And WE get to be a part of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In addition to God's awesome plan, He also calls for BOLDNESS and OBEDIENCE on our part. God is preparing each of us on the squad to be stretched out of our comfort zone on this trip. Even now, He is placing us in situations to prepare us for what's to come. My prayer is that we will remain in this mindset daily on the race, amidst long and weary days when our energy is gone and we just want to sleep away our fatigue. I pray that in those moments God will grant us GRACE and strengthen us in our weakness!
Well, that's pretty much it!
You have now experienced a couple minutes of entering into Rebecca Burger's mind. I hope it was fun! lol
