Hi everyone! It’s about time I updated you all!
A few days ago I got back from a mission trip in Peru with my school, and there truly are no words to describe the experience. As soon as I got back, my mom asked me “did this week make you have any second thoughts about next year?” I responded by saying that if anything, it made me want to leave RIGHT NOW! For the longest time I have been so worried about the World Race and whether or not I am the “right person for the job. What a silly thought to have… We are ALL the “right people” to share the gospel! My time in Peru, although not very long, really changed something in my heart. For the first time since I committed to this crazy journey, I feel confident in my choice to pursue life as a missionary next year! (and who knows, maybe after that too!)
And now here I am, with so few days left as a senior in high school. The best word I could use to describe myself right now is RESTLESS. Part of me is so sad to end this chapter of my life, but at the same time, all I want is to do is GO; to travel around the world sharing the love of Jesus. What a dream! Don’t get me wrong, I have a long list of fears that I am still working on overcoming, but I can finally say that I KNOW I have made the right choice. No more second guessing, and no more “buts” or “what ifs.”
So that’s it for now, I really just thought you all deserved an update of where my heart is at. But I also wanted to say a few things about how fundraising is going! When I first committed to the race, I was SO worried about meeting deadlines. I had no idea what to expect, but everyone’s generosity has blown me away. I have already met my summer deadline, 3 months early. WOW! It’s crazy to think I was ever worried about the money, because I’m learning that where God guides, He provides! What’s meant for me is NOT going to pass me by!
With that being said, I still have a long way to go with fundraising, so tell your friends! Your family! Your neighbors! I am so grateful for every donation I have received so far, for all the kind words and messages, and especially for all the prayers! As you know, I will not be able to go on this trip if I don’t continue to meet my deadlines, so it would be super cool if you considered supporting me!
As I continue through this season of waiting, I ask that you pray for my patience! I am counting down the days until this new adventure begins, but it is so important that I continue to stay focused on my schoolwork and preparing in every way I can. If you have any prayer requests, feel free to message me! I would be more than happy to lift you up in prayer 🙂
Thanks for sticking around for yet another post! I hope you all have the most amazing week!
