“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of whether we eat or drink, but of living of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” –Romans 14:17

This month I’ve been surrounded by kids. I have three kids at my homestay, two boys 5 and 8 and one girl 7. I love how curious they are about us. Seeing the purity, joy and happiness on their faces and their innocence.
I feel like this is how God sees us, innocent and pure. Seeing the joy on these kids faces brightens my heart. I feel like that is how God rejoices in us. He wants to see His children happy.
I pray that I keep the same child-like curiosity that these kids have when it comes to seeking God.
One day for ministry we visited an elementary school where we helped out in their English class and had lunch with them. At the end of lunch we had a bit of free time with them. One of the girls invited me to have fold origami with her. I was amazed at how much patience she had with me considering there was a language barrier. Being new to origami I didn’t really know what I was doing or what I was making, I just followed her guidance. After all the folding and the creasing I come to find the end result to be a flower.

I feel sometimes as if God plays the role of the little girl because he is so patient with us as He guides to live life. Although we my sometimes feel like we are in the dark not knowing what we are doing but in the end there is a beautiful reward.
“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” –Philippians 1:6
There were so many things stopping me from going on this trip but I’m glad I was able to push those feeling and selfish wants aside because I would not have been able to experience God this way.
