We are working with a new host this month in Albania and as I sat on the porch watching the mom of the family, I thought about my own mom. So this is a poetic tribute to my mom, Patsy Austin and Baeta in Albania. Thank you for all the children that you care for regardless of whether they bare your last name, your blood, or neither.

Mom’s out there that take in neighborhood kids, I’m sure that you realize what an impact you make on these children’s lives.
It is sometimes hard, in the moment, to see past how much of yourself you are giving, how much you are spending, how much time you are sacrificing, but as I sit on this porch and watch how the neighborhood children gather at your door at 8 am I look at their faces and see the longing for love and affection to grow up and be the secure children now adults that God has created them to be.
Neighborhood Mom…
I hope that you see that you are being Jesus’ hands and feet as you love these children in all that you do.
Neighborhood Mom…
I pray that you are continuously filled up from Jesus so that these kids never have to stop experiencing the Lord’s love through you.
Neighborhood Mom…
Even though it is hard to do what you do the world does not grow without you. Your impact is greater than you will ever see with your own eyes.
But God sees you.
Neighborhood Mom…
Thank you for being our Neighborhood Mom!
