The thought that keeps running through my mind is…This is for real happening?!?!
I am giving God my all. I am trusting Him with everyone I hold dear. I am placing my future and desires in His hands and His timing. The past five weeks or so after training camp have been a struggle. Everything I planned to accomplish was blown away by Irma. All my carefully laid out plans were washed away by some wind and rain. Fundraisers were cancelled, time with family/friends had to be rescheduled, and stress at work increased. Simultaneously frustration and sadness raged in my heart and the reason for why I was going on the World Race became blurry. Through this transitional time God kept reminding me to silence the chaos around me and He was preparing me for the year to come. I am thankful Jesus meets me where I am at and rejoice that He loves me enough to never leave me there.
At launch every racer was given a key necklace with a word engraved on it. These keys were prayed over and given with the expectation that we ask God what he wants to teach us through this word during the year and then give them away to someone God leads us to! My word is anchor, which is quite fitting for what my prayer is this year. I want to fall in love with Jesus and grow in boldness for His glory. The verse that popped into my mind is Hebrews 6:19
” We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

This year is going to be difficult. Giving God full control of every area of my life and allowing Him to prune me so that I can grow to be more like Him and be fruitful takes a considerably massive amount of trust and work on my end. However, I know my God is good in every circumstance. He is faithful from the beginning to the end. My God is victorious in every battle I face. Therefore, my hope is anchored to God’s character and my trust is anchored to His love for me. So while it was overwhelming to say “see ya later” to my family and friends I am resting in the peace that walking in obedience is far greater than anything I can do for them.
So here we go!! This is my team Panda Rangers and we are saying YES to all that God has called us to this year!
