Ministry Host: Judy and Becca are the fearless, joyful, and determined women that run the organization Hope Home. They are truly living out the calling and passions God has given them and inspire those around them. Judy is from England and is the foster mother to seven wonderful children with special abilities. She started Hope Home when the beautiful smile of a beautiful little girl captured her heart. Seeing that she was in need of a caretaker who could provide stable medical care, she obeyed God’s prompting and filled that role.

Lodging: We stayed at an AIM (Adventures in Missions) hostel base. We were very blessed with our accommodations which included a bed, hot shower, a/c, and a kitchen. Here we were able to learn the basics of business in missions and were able to share the love of Jesus to Thai staff that worked at the hostel and attached coffee shop.

Ministry: The moment you walk onto the campus of Hope Home you are surrounded with feelings of joy, love, and peace. You are greeted by smiling little faces reflecting the love that is poured into them. Hope Home is a foster care home for children with disabilities. They provide medical care, structured schedule, school, physio, and so much more! They truly desire to empower each child to reach their God given potential. This month we served alongside this amazing ministry by helping in any way we could from administration work, painting and crafting for sensory room and teaching tools, and played and loved on the kiddos.

This month God taught me a deeper understanding of His love. He taught me that He is enough and through it all He is good. Our first day at Hope Home, Becca made a comment that significantly impacted my life.

“God has called me to live a certain lifestyle. Not to a certain job.”

Wow! Seeing someone live out their calling and be filled with such passion and joy is truly inspirational. When you logically pick apart Becca and Judy’s lives, it’s easy to conclude that they should be burnt out and exhausted. I mean they work non-stop. Have limited free time if any because they are foster mothers. Are in and out of the hospitals continuously for surgeries, check-ups, and physical therapy. Always in search of new ideas to teach the children and help them express themselves. And yet, when you look at them, you are greeted with a smile, a word of encouragement, or a funny story. They truly are living and loving others as Jesus asks us to do. Their focus is on Him and His love for us, which is evident in the way they care for the children, the way they speak, and their constant source of energy. I am so thankful for this month and for the privilege to serve alongside such incredible godly women and adorable children.
