afasdfsadfsadfsadfMy name is Raquel Bagnal and I'm from Columbia,SC. I am originally from the Philippines, but moved to the States when I was 7 in 1996. I am 22 and nearing the end of my senior year of college at the University of South Carolina Aiken where I study Exercise and Sports Science.

After college, my plans were to spend time off working and getting experience for when I apply for Physical Therapy school, but God is showing me a different route. I have never been on any mission trip that requires going out of the States and traveling to different regions of the world sharing what I've been doing here around my community with friends and family. What I find scary and nerve-wrecking is that I'm diving into something that I've never specifically experienced before with nothing to relate so for me this is an example of what it means to taking a big leap of faith. A wise man from my church told me that feeling scared is showing fear and the acronym of fear is False Evidence Appearing Real, which I thought was brilliant but what he said about fear made me feel better that when you face fear with God beautiful things begin to happen. As my new friend, sister in Christ and WR buddy, Bea, put in better perspective about going on a mission trip is that it doesn't necessarily mean or isn't all about traveling to another country/state…it's going on a journey sharing what Jesus taught his disciples, creating relationships with God's other children, and showing what His love, grace and mercy means are all about. My reason for choosing to go on this trip is to share the same light that Jesus poured over my heart to all my brothers and sisters living in unfortunate conditions in comparison to my life.
