Since I left SC, this past week consisted of continuing with more training and preparation in a little area of Gainesville, GA that we like to call “Little Mexico” where we dug our feet into some Spanish culture. There, our training included meetings, team activities, going to Hispanic stores to buy food or a restaurant on a limited budget for our team, walking 20-30 minutes to take a shower in a hotel and back, and praising the Lord through some incredible worship. After 4 days of preparation, we left GA Friday afternoon to LAX airport and let me tell you how incredible the weather was in L.A. compared to the South’s hot and humid weather. Jeez, it was glorious just the radiating warmth from the sun combined with L.A.’s cool breeze from the wind.

As I write, I am sitting by the window overlooking Japan’s city lights shining just as bright as the stars in the sky. It is 10:53 AM in L.A. and 1:53 PM in the east coast Saturday, and 1:53 AM East Asia time Sunday. We have been flying for 10 hours now and only have 3 hours and 11 minutes till we hit our next destination before flying directly to the Philippines. When we hit the Philippines, we will arrive at the Manila City airport and will stay in the city for a day or two then travel to our ministry destination in Puerto Galera on the island of Mindoro, located southwest of Luzon.

Aside from feeling the result of sleep deprivation and possibly some symptoms from taking my doxy malaria pills- at this point I don’t really know, I am maintaining the joy that the Lord has brought upon my heart knowing that mylife will forever change once ministry starts. No words to describe how amazing this feels right now, not that I couldn’t think of one because of how tired I feel right now, but because of how humbled I am by His grace and presencse through keeping us safe throughout our flights as well as the people we got to meet. Lord, thank you and can’t wait to embrace more of your warm love.
