Before this trip, I never thought of getting a tattoo. But here I am now with a wild orchid on my left ankle.
During training camp, my teammate prophesied over me. After a powerful worship session, she pulled me aside saying she had a vision. She saw a single flower in the field. The flower doesn’t know how beautiful it is, but it is obvious to others. She then said the flower is me.
I didn’t think too much after she shared her prophecy. I thought it was something that applies to many people and I didn’t have much knowledge about prophetic words so I let it slide.
Our team then had a meeting to discuss the session. Some shared how impactful the message was or how the worship moved them. As our leader closed with a prayer, it hit me.
I was journaling in the field alone a couple hours ago and I happened to draw a flower in my bible. When the prayer ended, I quickly opened my bible and told my team about the prophecy. I was in awe and overflowed with love from God and my team.
I decided to get a tattoo because 1)my parents named me after the flower orchid which holds the meaning of love, loyal, and kind. 2)I wanted to remember the first prophecy that was so meaningful to me. By living my life, I hope to spread Jesus’s love as the orchid spread its seed in an open field.
As 1 Corinthians 13:3 says, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. I am still amazed by the experience and the way God speaks to us. He’s so darn good!
