“Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.”-1 Peter 4:12 (ESV)
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”-1 Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV)
I truly am a believer that God sends us WHAT we need, WHEN we need it. Today, he gave me EXACTLY what I needed in the form of a phone call from my friend/Sorority sister/Prayer partner Amethyst! (hence that’s why the scriptures and this blog are typed in the colors of Pink and Green! *smile*)
Before she called, I had just finished my Fundraising courses to ensure that all of my post acceptance race requirements were completed for that particular deadline. (For those who know me, I am a stickler for deadlines and getting things done on time.) She called to get an update on the sermon I had Instasnapped earlier today. (It too was right on time. It was a message by Bishop T.D. Jakes entitled “Coming Into Your Calling.” I HIGHLY encourage you to go and watch the rebroadcast.) As soon as she ended the statement of why she called, I expressed to her that I was so glad she called because I was feeling a little discouraged (I’m glad that I can be vulnerable with her.)
I began to explain that I was discouraged a little because I know I have a large task of fundraising at hand, but I also would like to be able to focus primarily on preparing myself for the raise physically, spiritually and by building up my team of supporters as suggested in our fundraising videos by having the freedom to work part-time that would ensure that my needs were met. I also expressed to her that I wish that I had I didn’t have the obligation of bills or a full time-job (no punt intended here.)
She then began to reassure me that if God called me for this race, that he would make the necessary provisions to ensure that I have what I need to fulfill this calling on my life.
We then shifted the conversation and she began to tell me how just my leap of faith to embark on this journey has encouraged another Sorority sister that she met today. She told me that today she had met some fellow sisters and during their conversation, one of the sisters began telling her feeling as if there was more to her life, when Amethyst began to tell the sister about me and how I too felt the same way and was beginning to go on the race. As she concluded that part of the conversation she reassured me that God’s grace is sufficient and little did I know that I had inspired someone whom I hadn’t even had the chance to meet yet. She expressed how God’s light is illuminating through me and that God is about to do something great in my life.
We then began to talk about other things and I told her that I was glad she called and that she was just that little reassurance to me of everything working out, and that I too would be that for her when she needed and if she ever needed a prayer.
So, this blog is dedicated to you Amethyst and to all of the sisters, friends and family (both near and far), as well everyone else that has been inspired by this journey. THANK YOU for being WHAT I needed, WHEN I needed. Rather it was word to take a leap of faith and get outside of my comfort zone, a word of encouragement or a simple I’m proud of you…THANK YOU! You were RIGHT ON TIME!
Please continue to pray for me through this fundraising journey. I have fundraisers coming up each month to help me meet my deadlines. The scheduled deadlines are:
May 15, 2017-$5,000 raised
July 21, 2017-$10,000 raised
September 30, 2017-$13,000 raised
November 30, 2017-Must be fully funded!
The fundraiser for the month of December is: All I Want for Christmas is to go on The World Race. My goal is to raise $1,225.16 (12*25*16 For Christmas! Get It? *smile*). We know that Jesus is the REAL reason for the season so consider donating the amount of $24.50 to help me give the gift of HIM starting in August 2017.
Thank you all for reading this blog and I hope that you were inspired just as I was that God is working all things together for your good (Both the good and the bad) and that he gives us WHAT we need, WHEN we need it. Please subscribe to follow me on this journey as I continue to prepare for the raise, as well as throughout the actual journey.
Many blessings,
Ramesha Nicole
xoxo
