So one of my declarations that I made at the age of 29 was that “My 30s are going to be better than my 20s.”  I can honestly say that it has been exactly that. God has been showing and revealing things to me and allowing me to experience things (as well as things I haven’t experienced yet, like this race) and meet different people that it completely blows my mind.

One of my goals that I strive for daily is to continue being the best version of myself. As a part of that process, God has been placing people in my life to ensure that I continue to involve into who it is that he is calling me to be.

I’m a true believer that God places certain people in your life for a reason as well as a season. There’s a quote I found that says “We don’t meet people by accident. They are meant to cross our path FOR A REASON.” In Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10, it says, “two people are better than one. When two people work together, they can work more effectively. If one of them falls down, it’s just too bad because there is no one to help him.” (GNT)

Yesterday, I had lunch with my new mentor. Let me just say the energy, compassion, love and knowledge that she was giving was utterly nothing far from AMAZING! So many things that I had been praying and thinking about, we discussed. She was able to help me change my perspective on some things, as well as shared her personal experiences. The blessing of this whole relationship, is that she too is a missionary! She has an started a non-profit organization who’s goal is to go out into un-served communities and countries and spread faith, hope and love. (For more information on her upcoming trips, events and how you can be of help and contribute to the cause, please visit her website at www.jotinabuck.com.)

You see, one thing she expressed is that we’re in this together. God wants us all (no matter religious/church affiliation, background, skin color, ect) to be his hope and light in the world. We don’t have to do this thing called life alone! We all have the power to be missionaries, visionaries and world changers. We just have to have the willing to be apart of something bigger than ourselves.

I’m so THANKFUL, that God has placed someone in my path to help me along this journey, who understands me, dreams just as BIG as I do and who I can help serve and assist as well along this journey called life…. So, my encouragement to each of you, is to continue to evolve in being the best version of yourself (be willing to grow and do the work that it takes) and being what this world needs. HOPE * FAITH * LOVE…Remember, we’re in this together!!

(My new mentor and I after good food and talking about things we love!)
