Here is a short update about what is going on now. During the last few weeks we have been busy working on our vision projects. I will explain a little about what the vision project is.
We all have a dream. Whether it’s small or big, it’s still there. Many like to call this our “Kingdom dream.” Most of us, especially speaking of Americans, don’t ever see that dream come to be reality. This is a problem most of us have. Here at G42, one of the primary goals is to make sure we get past the dreaming stage. This is where the vision project comes in. The actual vision project is a five page article explaining what your dream and a ten-fifteen minute presentation on that article. Whether this is written by someone who wants to open a five-star hotel or someone who wants to be a missionary in Swaziland, it doesn’t matter.
You may wonder, “This can’t be it. Just a five page article will make your dream come a reality?” The answer is, “No.” We have just put our dream down on paper. Now we must think, “What are steps that I am going to need to take to get to this place?”
But what it will do is make us think. My dream is to eventually be able to travel and evangelize. I have discovered that I love public speaking, and I believe that God has gifted me in this area. I have realized this over the last several months. I would like to travel across America and possibly even across the world to speak with people.
Throughout the last few weeks we have been working on this, I have thought about, researched, contacted other pastors who may offer advice, and picked the brains of my teachers about what may be some of the steps I need to take to get to where I want to be. The first step I have realized is getting in a church. I will probably start somewhere with an internship that will get me into the local church. Hopefully through that I will be able to get the experience I need while also giving me potential stepping stones to get me a little closer.
My friends and family all ask where I am going to go after that. I really don’t know. We’ll see what happens. I just ask that you continue to pray that doors will be open when the time comes. I will be home at the end of December. I am not sure where I’ll leave to do an internship, but I am hoping I will be able to spend a few weeks or a month at home. I would like to say that I will be more than willing to speak anywhere during that time. So if you know of any church service, youth groups, or any events where this could happen, I would more very appreciative of the opportunity to practice what I love.
I am in need of $3,400 to finish paying for my time here at G42. Four-hundred of that was due by September 1 and another thousand at the beginning of each of the following months. I would like to thank each of you who have already supported me through prayers and financially. One time donations are great, but there is also an area on the website where you can choose to give reoccurring donations if you wish.
There are two way to make a donation. The first is done online by following the instructions a the bottom. The other option is to mail a check to G42’s financial office at: P.O. Box 130611, Houston, TX 77219-0611. To be sure your support gets into the proper account, include my name on the memo line of the check.
