Beautiful Australian Beach!
AUSTRALIA! I can’t believe it’s already been a week and a half here. It seems like we only got here a few days ago. But then I look back at all that we’ve already done, it definitely makes sense that it’s been that long. This is the first of two consecutive blogs I’m posting. This one will serve as just a rundown of what’s been going on since we’ve been here. So here we go.

This month we are working with YWAM (Youth with a Mission). They are an organization that develops Christian leaders in all aspects of life. We started off with a bang. Our bus wouldn’t start when we were leaving the airport, so we literally had to start off the month with a push. Don’t fret; we only pushed for about five yards before it decided to get started.

From the get go we have been extremely blessed here. We were under the impression that we would be staying in tents the duration of the month. Instead, we each get our own bed in an air conditioned house, with water that you can drink from the tap and with internet. Not to mention, we have awesome roommates. We have loved the guys in our house. They are so welcoming and I love hanging out with them. These are people that I legitimately see being my friends for a long time to come.

This month has been a lot different than last month in every regard. One of the biggest differences is the structure. Last month we had a very loose schedule. Loose to the point that I got frustrated at times when I thought we should be doing more. This month we have had a pretty packed schedule. We have one free day a week (usually) and a few time slots allotted for team time here and there. I’ve really enjoyed the structure. It helps me know that I am for sure doing something.

We have got to do a lot of different things since we have been here. We have went street feeding for the homeless. We have gone door-to-door evangelizing. We have went street evangelizing. We have prayed for the aboriginals. We have gone to the beach. We have gone to King’s Park (look it up). We have cooked in the YWAM kitchen. We have told testimonies. We have led worship. We have gone to houses to help families clean up because the messes have become overwhelming. We have cleared out a warehouse for YWAM. And this list will continue to grow. We have done an incredible amount in such a short amount of time.

It has been great being able to touch so many people lives. Not only people in the community but also the people of YWAM. The fact that we can help an organization by taking away some of their burdens has been a great feeling. The fact that people here have said that we are “a breath of fresh air” has been so encouraging.

It really shows that we don’t always have to reach out to those who aren’t Christians. Sometimes it’s the people closest to us that need someone to brighten their day, or speak encouraging words to them.

It’s already been so awesome here, and I can’t wait to see what else we’ll be doing the rest of this month. But you best believe that I’ll keep y’all updated!

Thanks for reading!
