With only a few days left here in Malaysia, I figure it’s about time I put out another blog. This blog will be split into two parts, the first about spiritual gifts. The second about what we’ve been doing.

As the body of Christ, we are like The Avengers (or for you DC fans, we are like The Justice League).  Let me explain. 1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

Keeping that in mind we must find a way to use these gifts God has given us in unison with those of the people around us.

Iron Man cannot do the same things as the Hulk. The Hulk cannot summon lightening like Thor. Captain America cannot fly like Iron Man. And the list goes on. If one needs help in a particular area they look to the others. That being said, that does not mean they don’t have the capability to do what the others are gifted in. It just means it’s not their forte.

God has each given us spiritual gifts that we are good at. Those will not necessarily be the same as the person next to you. On The World Race, we are coming to find that our team is filled with different gifts and we must utilize each other to better bring the Kingdom of God; to better serve our God, to serve others, and to spread God’s grace.

Ok now part two. So much has happened this week, it’s hard to put it all in words. There were a few tourist things that we took care of early in the week. We went to the Petronas Towers, the tallest twin towers before. They were alright, not worth what we paid in my opinion, but what can you do. Then we went to the Batu Caves. This is a cave that has been formed into a Hindu temple. I did not like being here at all. It got me thinking of my family. It bothered me for one that even though I grew up Hindu, I knew so little about the faith. It made me sad for the people there. It was so familiar, yet so foreign at the same time. But as my good friend Shelby Klett (shout out!) wisely said, “it showed you you’re on the right path.” And that was so true.

We put on a program for the youth at the church. It basically consisted of us teaching them to dance. What dances, you ask? Well we taught the chicken dance, the wobble, the wop, and the cotton eye joe, just to name a few. Then they taught is some warrior Malaysian dances. Then we encouraged them about mission work and serving God.

Yesterday Justin Warren (our squad leader) and I went to help someone paint her house. Here’s the story. She had an abusive, alcoholic husband. She finally mustered up the courage to take her kids and leave him. Soon afterward she came home to found that her husband had hung himself in their living room.

Talking to her, I was overcome by sadness. But this woman was not looking to God. Yesterday, for the first time, she said that she had become a Christian. What an amazing outcome to such a tragic event. We were able to pray for her, pray for the house, and pray for her family.

Those have been the highlights of this week. There has been so much more going on, but I can’t write forever. This will be my last blog from Malaysia. See y’all in Australia! Shout out to Casey Carswell!
