I love to hear stories of how the Lord is moving around the world, so here’s one for you guys!
Today we served at a school in Nepal. It is one of the only christian schools around, and the Lord is moving in powerful ways there. The kids there range from 3-15, there’s a little over 100 students, most of them come from Hindu families, and the school principal and founder is a woman who is devoted to the Lord and serves Him whole heartedly.
She shared her story with us and I was amazed at the way God revealed himself to her throughout her life. Sanju was raised Buddhist but came to know Christ during a time in her life when she had no hope. She was very sick, the doctors told her they couldn’t help her, there was no medicine, she was going to die. God came to her in a dream and told her that she was chosen and that she was His and that she was healed. When awoke she said she gave her life to Christ immediately and wanted to follow Him and from that moment on she was no longer sick. God later showed Himself to her again when she was pregnant with her son. Again the doctors said there was nothing they could do for him. When he was born he wouldn’t be healthy, he wouldn’t survive, that she has to have an abortion. But Sanju put her son and her pregnancy in the hands of the Lord and today her son is 15 and in great health.
As christians, and missionaries, and people who are commanded to share the gospel we sometimes fall into the mindset of thinking that God needs us; that in order for Him to reach the nations we HAVE to send people. But in reality the Lord chooses to use us. He CAN handle it on His own. And today I was reminded of that.
At training camp our leader showed us a video of himself making eggs with his 2 year old son. You can imagine the mess, difficulties, and frustration that come with a 2 year old cracking eggs, pouring milk, shaking salt, stirring things, and using a stove. And you can also imagine how much easier and quicker it would be for his dad to just make the eggs for him. But how much more special it is that his dad chooses to let him be involved in the process….. there’s a metaphor in there somewhere, you shouldn’t have to work too hard for it lol.
The Lord is faithful. He has a plan for redemption. Behold He is making all things new. And what a joy it is when He chooses to use me and you to bring that plan of redemption to fruition. And the same amount of joy and wonder when He chooses to just do it himself.
I would just challenge you all to think about how you’ve seen God with in your life lately. And even better how have you let Him use you lately?
Thanks for tuning in to Raiven’s Regular Refreshment!
Message me if you want to find out more about this school and how you can be a part of the Lord’s work there! They’re always looking for help and teachers who love the Lord who can give even just a month of their time??
Side note.. Y’all ain’t it beautiful? Lemme brag on my sister for a minute. This is my sister in Christ and she’s astonishing. She’s so bold in the way she has stepped out in faith to start a school and raise up little believers in faith. Little kiddos who wouldn’t otherwise likely ever be exposed to the word of God. Despite opposition surrounding her on literally every side. Isn’t she beautiful? I wanna be like her when I grow up. And if you’re a Christian she’s your sister too. Like y’all, OUR FAMILY is amazing! ain’t God good?
LAST THING! We’re doing mountain ministry and we’re going on a trek! But to do this we need to raise an extra $100. so if you feel led to donate please venmo me! My username is Hops2211
Prayer Requests:
- persecution of Joyti Aawasiya Vidhyalaya (the school). Because many children that attend this school come from Hindu families their parents would like idol worship to be a part of the school day as is custom at other Nepali schools. As a Christian school idol worship is a no no and a non negotiable lol. As a early many conflicts and complaints arise and parents have been pulling their children from the school.
- Sanju. Just that she be able to continue running the school according to the way God has spoken it on her heart, and in a way that glorifies Him without caving to the pressures of the community that surrounds her. And that she just remain faithful to the Lord when she’s very much the minority belief system
- The kiddos at the school. Even through they come from Hindu families the Lord has brought them to that school for a reason. So just praying that He would reach them and hold onto them as they continue to mature and call them His. And that they would know they are dearly loved by the one true God and ultimately becomes followers of Christ because of the love they’ve been shown and the words they’ve received despite where they may go back to each day.
- Strength of our squad. We’re going on a trek to minister to the Himalayan people soon. We’ll be living in the mountains for a little over a week… that just sounds rough lol so pray for us??
- Health of the squad. We’re good right now. But the coronavirus has been spotted in our area so just protection from that
