Our ministry this Month was Unsung Heroes again!
Which means we were searching for new ministries to potentially partner with Adventures in Missions in the future. So that teams can be sent to these new ministries to serve along side them.
The Lamb Institute offers many ministry.
The below information was provided by their website
which you can view if you click here —> LAMB Institute
Children’s Home
“God’s Littlest Lambs Children’s Home, located in San Buanaventura, 45 minutes from Tegucigalpa, is home to over 65 children whose young lives have been marked by abuse and neglect. The dedicated Honduran staff are committed to raising these precious children in the knowledge and love of Jesus”
Daycare & School
“God’s Littlest Lambs School provides excellence in education (K-grade 6) for children whose families struggle to meet the most basic of needs. The daycare nurtures babies and toddlers in a loving and safe environment, giving their working moms peace of mind while they provide for their families”
Alonzo Movement
“In 2009, Alonzo, a LAMB scholarship student, intern and rising star in the Flor del Campo community was murdered for his cell phone. From his tragic death, God birthed an incredible outreach to the youth at Flor who are so at risk for gang involvement. Today, around 300 youth participate in this life-saving, life-giving ministry”
Microcredit
“The microcredit program was started in 2010 to help five women grow their small businesses, thus providing food for their families. Today, more than 400 people have received small, short-term loans”
Unfortunately due to the “War Tax“ the gangs impose on the community they no longer offer micro loans to the small business in the community.
War Tax is when the gangs collect money from taxi’s, bus drivers, and small business owners so that they do not hurt them. If they can not or do not pay them they can get killed. Many people have to close their shops because they can not afford to pay such taxes.
Safehouse
“The Safe House is a place of retreat and renewal for girls and women who are being rescued from human trafficking. Here they are surrounded by caring staff who remind them of their great worth in Jesus, of His love for them and His promises to them. It is a place of healing, of hope and of encouragement”
Here is a brief tour of their Daycare & School in Tegucigalpa, and the children’s home in Buanaventura.
As you saw their schools and grounds in Buanaventura are amazing.
Suzy, has literally picked up the majority of the children herself when they were babies. Either their families could not take care of them or they were abused. She has seen some of them grow from babies to graduating high school. She loves each and everyone of those children as her OWN. She calls them her children because she has cared for the each step of the way. And as her children she said that
“I will never leave them. Family is family forever“.
Hope you enjoyed yet another
