Month 1 of the World Race in a nutshell.

Puerto Rico has been great!

Every host, church, & friend was a blessing.

They treated & spoke to us in a way I have never experienced.

My team of 7 lived with another 2 teams this month totaling 20 people.

We have stayed with 2 host – Ruben in Mayaguez for the first 2 weeks & Pastor Victor at Oasis church in Vega Baja for the last 2 weeks.

Ruben was such a blessing. Him and his family treated us as if we were his children. Drove us around, cooked us food, helped with laundry, and had us over his house for a night of worship.

I also got to meet and spend time with Emanuel. He is a friend of my friend Paul who strongly encouraged me to contact him I was in the area. Emanuel rounded up his friends (since we did not have transportation at the time) and took us to his church, Catacumba #5.  What an amazing service!
Great word, loving church & awesome praise and worship.

Oasis Church in Vega Baja has been great. Met some really cool people here as well. Pastor Victor has been a great host. Always a phone call away if we ever we need anything. While in Vega Baja the 20 of us split up into 2 teams of 10 to serve at 2 different churches.

The group of 10  I was a part of served at Irlanda Heights Church. Our work days consisted of mostly painting numerous rooms through their church.

The staff their once again like the others were so generous and loving.  Whether it was them buying us pastries, bringing us home cooked Puerto Rican food, or giving us parting gifts on our last day.

All 3: Ruben, Emanuel, & Victor are huge supporters of missions which reflected in their actions. They had such a willingness to aid us in anyway necessary. It was really something that kept on surprising me.

They really showed me what it looks like to be selfless & how to host future missionaries.

This month has been a huge learning experience.

We leave for The Dominican Republic tomorrow! I’m excited to see what God has in store for us there. As well as to be reunited with the entire 45 members that make up Y Squad.

I made a short clip of some of the things I spoke about in this post.

Hope you enjoy.

Peace – Love – & God bless
