Nicaragua!
Month 8 of 11!
3 more months till my World Race comes to an end.
Crazy right?!
OK! Month 8 was our MAN-istry month.
What does that mean you ask.
Man-istry is the 1 month out of the 11 all of us men
leave our teams to live and serve together for the month.
Our ministry host was Michael Lindsey of Waves of Love. Which some of you remember from my last post.
For some it was a time of rest. Due to the past consecutive months of manual labor. For others like myself it was a time to dive into some great books.
It was a month we all very much needed. For some of us it was turned out to be our favorite month of the race thus far.
During the week we worked on Michael’s property. We dug holes, removed old posts, and replaced them with new ones. We assisted his employees who manage his property, Roberto and his son Daniel.
The logs we had to life were pretty heavy. That is why most had to be carried by two people and some three.
Digging the holes weren’t any easier.
Michael received a message from God that when he works on his land he is to work like the locals do. Which means NO POWER TOOLS.
I believe that does make for a greater bond not only with his employees but with his neighbors. Yes, using machines and power tools will expedite the completion of your task.
But that will also drastically shorten the time you spend working along side people such as Roberto and Daniel. I am sure there is much respect earned doing such manual labor the way they do.
There are 7 of us men on the squad. Yes, only 7 out of the 43. We did have 1 more who was our Squad leader Sam, but like all squad leaders he has to return home at some point.
God all knowing as He is new it was MAN-istry for us.
The night we arrive in Nicaragua Michael picks us up, and head over to the house we will be staying in.
He tells us that his wife and daughter are leaving the following day to Florida. His wife for work and his daughter for school.
Literally it us just us men in the house.
It gets even better.
Michael informs us that in a few days 3 “Christian Surfers”, Jeff, Jefferson, and Ross from California will be joining us for a week.
Then there was Luke, who came to serve with Waves of Love for the summer.
One day the surfers met some other guys out in the water as they were waiting for waves. They get to talking and met a young pastor from North Carolina and his buddy. They offered to join us the next day to help us at Michael’s property.
So just in a few days us 8 (including Sam) joined Michael, his son Daniel, Luke, 3 surfers from Cali, and 2 more they met surfing.
16 MEN
God brought together! All of which has chosen to follow and serve Him. God bringing these Men to not alone work alongside us (which helped out a lot) but to encourage us on the way.
We lived very close to the beach. Definitely a nice perk I must say.

Well I made a video and it is my favorite!
SO YOU MUST WATCH IT AND SHARE IT WITH YOUR FRIENDS!
Shows a little bit of everything we did that month when we were with
Waves of Love.
Nicaragua brought some great times!
Isaiah also made a “cribs” video. Check it out!
Last but not least a couple of awesome pics of Nicaragua.
Both pictures above were from our yet another 6 hour hike. This time it wasn’t for church just another thing to go do on our off day. #locos
Hope you enjoyed my Nicragua / MAN-istry update!
As you can tell from the videos we all had such a great time.
Nicaragua surpassed all my expectations.
God bless – Thank you all yet again for keeping up with my mission trip, adventures, and donations!
Love – Raf!
Shout out to my dude Matt. Thanks again for always letting me use your laptop. I wouldn’t have been able to make this video without it!.
