El Salvador

Month 10 of 11!

 El Salvador was great!

We were paired up with a great Host – Alex Marks

As well as a great church – Gran Comision

Our team got a chance to spend time with the Gran Comision in Honduras.

We mainly served at the Centro De Desarollo Infantil (CDI)

The CDI is a program ran by Gran Comision.

They provide lunch and a snack to about 25-30 children

monday through friday.

The staff at the CDI also teach the younger children grammar,

numbers, does arts and crafts, and bible lessons.

We had a lot of fun getting to know and play with the children.

Outside the CDI we aslo visited 2 high schools. We visited a few

class rooms each time sharing about ourselves and our mission

trip.

The congregation at Gran Comision treated us like family. They

cared for us very well and were always interested in getting to

know us.

A few times a week a family from Gran Comision would cook us

dinner. The cool part was that they didn’t just drop the food off

they cooked. They had dinner with us and we would converse for

a few hours.  Usually Jose who was a member of the church

would translate for us.

As shown in the video we had a cool bunk bed project.

Our host Alex noticed one family was in desperate need of bunk beds. There were a few children whose beds were on the floor.

With Alex carpentry skills and our assistance we built bunk beds. It was definitely a fun and rewarding project.
