Yep, it’s really the half way point. February 14th marks 5 1/2 months on the World Race. I literally cannot wrap my mind around this fact. Here’s the thing about the World Race, it’s this weird time warp thing where you feel like you’ve been out here for 1 week and 10 years all at the same time.

Because words can’t really describe it, I’m just going to give you a list of 11 things that I’ve learned from the first half of the World Race.

In no particular order:

1. Squatty potties are great. They make things flow so much smoother than western toilets.

2. An iPod or portable listening device is actually a necessity on the World Race.

3.Go with the flow, it makes life easier and a lot more enjoyable.

4. I am a leader, and I love being in a season of leadership.

5. Kids aren’t that bad. Yeah, they’re dirty and lice filled, but they’re kinda cute. My own kids will be the cutest, of course. And hopefully not lice filled..

6. All girls teams are the best – when it’s hot and it’s only girls in the house, clothes are optional.

7. Treating my body well by exercising and making the best food choices available is actually an act of worship.

8. You can eat rice every day and not get sick of it. This might just be me, because most people would rather eat fried frog than more rice.

9. Apparently the best place to find iced coffee is in the Cambodian slums.

10. Sharing is caring, but I still don’t like it.

11. The issue of my value was settled at the cross and my identity lies solely in my adoption as a daughter of God.

So there you go. There are a hundred more things I could include in a list of things I’ve learned throughout this incredible season. These are just the ones that came to mind at 10pm when I’m hot and sweating even sitting directly in front of two fans. #Cambodianheat
