Am I doing the right thing? Am I sure this is what God asked me to do? Did I just make these plans myself and ask God to bless them?
When support wasn’t coming in as quickly as I would have liked, these are the questions that started haunting me. The devil saw his chance and he took it. He made me start thinking that I was on my own with this whole World Race thing because God hadn’t really called me to go. It was just something I wanted to do, so I pursued it without seeking the Lord first.
Oh, how wrong he was.
For a while, I believed those lies. I believed the lies until the day I asked the Lord to confirm my calling to the World Race. I told Him, “Sure, a few people have donated, but it’s early enough that I can back out now without letting too many people down. Just say the word and I’ll quit.”
His response blew me away.
In a matter of two days, I received $820 in donations. A few days later, a couple I know purchased all of the gear on my registry. I had several people pledge donations. To top it off, the woman I sat next to at work yesterday had tons of travel experience and shared awesome stories with me. Plus, she was just as excited about the World Race as I am, which is always so encouraging.
You see, I really need a lot of assurance that something is from the Lord. Otherwise, I have trouble discerning whether it’s God’s voice, my own, or that of the world. Thankfully my Abba Father knows this about me. When He saw I was doubting, He provided more than enough confirmation of my call to the World Race.
He said, “Calm down sweet child. This plan is not your own, for I have had these laid out for you since the beginning. Trust that I will provide everything you need in exactly the right time.”
Those are the words that have calmed my fears and set me free to whole-heartedly dive into all He has planned through the World Race.
Will you join me?
As I mentioned above, I have had all my gear donated to me, so that is taken care of (praise the Lord!).
The next step is vaccines. If you would like to support one or part of a vaccine cost, please let me know either through this blog (Comment, or click the “Contact Me” link on the left side of the page), Facebook, or email me at raelynn[dot]defalco@gmail[dot]com. That donation would not be made through this blog, it would go directly to me so I can make the payment to the clinic.
