Yesterday we left our training location, the wonderful Virginia Theological Seminary, and headed on our way to the Dulles airport. From there we boarded a plane with Qatar airlines to head on our way to Nairobi but first we have made a stop in Qatar and are currently hanging out in the airport during out layover. You would not believe how stinkin' nice this airport is. Holy Moly.

My first international flight was amazing! It was full of laughter, good movies, amazing food (for being on a plane), and the best stewardess ever. She was one of those people that are just full of life and I wasn't just because it's her job to be friendly and get you stuff when you ask for it, but it came through in the way she wanted to interact with everyone and get to know you. Most encouraging moment of the plane ride was waiting in line for the bathroom and talking with her. We began to discuss where we were all headed to and what we were doing and as I told her about the world race she got the most electric smile on her face and said "You are Christians?! I am too! that is so amazing!" As it turns out she's from the Philippines and might be home while we are there for the race! So we exchanged emails and I gave her my blog, and once we get there, if she gets to go home during that time, she wants to meet up and even do ministry along side us there.

One of the things the Lord shared with me as I was applying for this adventure was how He wanted to use it to completely broaden my view of who the Body of Christ is. So far during my life with Him I've had a pretty limited view of who my brothers and sisters in Christ are just how personal and individualist the Lord is with each us. And just on the first plane ride He has been faithful in beginning to broaden that view and deepen that understanding. I am excited to continue on this trek, meeting more and more people a long the way.
