(just beginning and regarded as better than what went before : starting a new life. reinvigorated or restored.)
Today my team and I will be celebrating newness. Christ makes us new, and He is doing that everyday. With Him we have an endless amount of newness to partake in; because there is no end to Him it will always seem that we are just beginning to discover all He is and through that all that we are through Him. It will everyday always be better than what was before. In the grand scheme of eterenity this WHOLE life is just the start of our new life… this whole experience is an expereince of starting (coming into being; beginning or being reckoned from a particular point in time or space : [with infinitive or present participle ] embarking on a continuing action or a new venture).
At our 8month debrief one of the staff (I beleive Noe) proclaimed a truth: "This trip is not the climax of your Christian expereince". This trip has been great, it's been beyond anything I have experienced up until it in my life, it has been a source of change and a conduit of teaching me so much, it has been edifying and renewing. It is not the end. No mission trip, no summer project, no church service, no camp, no retreat, no conference will EVER be the climax of our "Christian expereinces". How could they be, when we have yet to meet our Maker and our Savior face to face?! Until the day we stand in Heaven with our Lord, we will have NEVER experience the "highlight" or "climax" of our life with in Him… because isn't that what our "Christian experiences" are all about? Life IN Him, and THROUGH Him, and BECAUSE of Him, to the GLORY of Him. Until the day we stand IN the presence of that GLORY, THROUGH Jesus Christ BECAUSE of His sacrifice we will not have reached anything NEAR the climax of our life.
This is just the starting of something new, and that is worth celebrating. Today as I woke up this morning this song seemed to be utterly fitting in so many ways for my current expereinces. (ha though the video is kind of the cheesy lyric kind with pictures in the background… just ignore that and listen to the song itself. its a goody goody)
