Our journey to Busia started off with a 10 hour bus ride, more like a roller coaster ride with all the bumps. It was one of the most fun and entertaining things every though. Everyone else on the bus was probably annoyed beyond belief with the 6 Mzungos in the back of the bus laughing hysterically everytime a bump sent us flying through the air, which was like every 5 mintues or so.
A few hours into the bus ride my teammates acquired an amazing ability of sleeping through the bumps.. I did not however and so took the oportunity to capture some great moments.
When we arrived in Busia Rev. Gideon picked us up from the bust station, crammed all 6 of us plus him and our luggage into his 5 passenger car and drove us to his home just a short distance away.
Our first offically day in Busia Mama, Gideon's wife Jane, took us to the supermarket to get food and to a fabric store inorder for each of us to get some so that a friend of hers can make us real African skirts! While there we made from friends with the kids who were playing in the alley and hanging around the store.
