Three days ago I abandoned the only community I’ve ever known and headed into Atlanta to begin launch with my oh so wonderful squad. Two days ago I said my farewells to my parents and sister. And today I sit here in the airport awaiting my departure for Guatemala, my new home for the next three months.
I have never moved homes, schools, or even churches. Before now, I have never truly experienced the process of change. But I tell ya, I’m looking it in the face right now and its absolutely peaceful. You probably thought I was going to say nerve-racking, terrifying, or intimidating, but I am overwhelmed with peace. I’m not saying that I don’t feel those other emotions at all, I am just saying that the “Peace that surpasses all understanding” is taking over! And it is AWESOME!
Thank you for all the prayers for peace and serenity because they our working! I love you all, and cannot put into words how much y’all have grown me closer in love with the Father. And a simple “thank you” can not cover that.
The few weeks leading up to now have been overwhelming. Overwhelmingly good. (And a little overwhelming with all the packing lists and last minute trips to Walmart, but mainly overwhelmingly good.) Thank you to all of you who have supported me, wrote me, celebrated with me, visited me, and prayed over me because y’all are the reason. During this new process of change our good good Lord has shown me new depths of His love through each one of you. So I say it again, thank you. And I will keep on saying it!!
I am minutes away from departing(AHHHHH so exciting!!!). But before I leave I want to let y’all know I will be doing ministry in Antigua, Guatemala with a local ministry call Nueva Generacion…more details to come. But I do know that there is a hospital 5 minutes away walking! So hopefully that leaves you all in a state of peace as well. hahah. Next time you hear from me, I will be writing from Guatemalan ground!
