About two weeks ago I returned home from training camp with sore feet, an anxious heart and some answers. So first things first: the answers. On September 6th I will be headed to..
GUATEMALA
then three months later..
THAILAND
and another three months later..
BOTSWANA!!
I am way too excited to live in each one of these places. I can hardly handle it, but now back to training camp. I could easily write a novel about the heart wrenching experiences and astounding, completely-change-your-way-of-thinking revelations about the power of the Holy Spirit, but instead I’m going to focus on dancing and my dance partners.
(But don’t worry because I will have 9 months to write on and on about that unfathomable power of the Spirit that is too alive in us to believe.)
So…what do you get when you stick 200 missionaries in one room. Well let me tell ya, ONE HUGE DANCE PARTY. I once heard that seriousness is not a fruit of the Spirit, and training week deemed that to be true. JOY is a fruit of the Spirit, and joy is what took the reigns every moment we were all gathered together. You are probably thinking, “Who’s we?” We is the group of 200 missionaries I trained with (my squad consist of 43 of them), and 7 of them I will be doing life with over these next unforgettable months. I see Jesus in the face of each one of them, and that is cause He is! Their joy, their passion, their resilience to praise our King so freely is all together beautiful and fun!
We belted from our lungs and sprung from our feet because we were dancing in the river of His love. Here’s a little glimpse of that, and I think it will help you understand why I came home with such sore feet.
