It’s time for another team bio blog!  When everyone on this team got the list of names of who they would be spending the next 3 months with we all got really excited.  We would have never thought to put this group of people together, but when it happened, we all became really pumped for the inevitable laughs and adventures that would take place.  So here they are, the girls who are recklessly sharing the light of Jesus with me in Africa:

Ash: Our leader of the group.  She has the biggest, loudest, and most free laugh that you can hear and pick out from anywhere.  She has full confidence in her quirky self and draws people in with her bubbly and accepting personality.  She was a children’s pastor back in Arizona and for good reason.  Watching her teach Bible lessons to kids is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.  The way she relates to them, gets on their level, gets them excited, and draws in their full attention is a gift from the Lord like I’ve never seen before.  She is so full of the Holy Spirit and shares it with all people in however they need to encounter Him. She has so much wisdom and is someone I look up to so much.

Amy: This girl is someone who I can easily joke with becuase of our similar, dry, sense of humor.  She never goes over the top with her jokes, she uses just the right amount of sarcasim, wit, and rediculousness.  She has a lot of compassion for people and will fight for them.  She has served our squad by using her talents to cut all of our hair, something we’re all very thankful for.  She taught 4th grade with me this past month which was a very interesting experience that we can forever share in and bond over.  I’m very excited for our time together in Africa.

Danielle: This girl has a genuine, strong, and unshakable faith.  God is so clearly the number one thing in her life as no aspect of her is untouched by her desire to serve the Lord.  She has a constant thirst for His knowledge and presence.  She never tires of doing God’s work.  She is also a big goof and can quote any movie at any time.  We’ve gone on some epicly failed adventures together and we love to laugh at that fact.

Haley: She’s one of the most freely weird people I’ve met.  She has full confidence to do silly things to make you laugh and she doesn’t care what others think.  She is an overcomer through Christ.  She has battled and found so much victory in Jesus throughout her life and it’s amazing to see how far she’s come.  She looks for what she can do better and strives to be the person she wants to be.  Our new friendship is something that I’m really going to enjoy the next 2 months in Botswana and South Africa.

Lauren gets a round 2: I’m so happy I get another 3 months with this lovey Kairos teammate.  I’ve been able to see how far she’s come and am glad to join in her journey as she continues to sprint in her persuit of knowing, loving, and serving Jesus.  She has become so satisfied in the Lord that she has an untouchable joy that blesses those she ministers to.  Her love for others is so strong and she is a safe place for others.  Although I’ve seen lots of change in her over the time I’ve known her, some things are still the same, like her love for popcorn and movies.
