Hey guys!!! My name is Rachel Schwartz and i´m a senior at Oasis High School located in Cape Coral, Florida. I was born and raised here in the Cape with a family of four, i have two amazing parents who have been married for 25 years and a younger sister who just turned 16. She was adopted from South Korea when she was 6 months old and she has been apart of our family ever since. I’m so excited to be sharing my journey with y’all, the past 17 years of my life I have felt like God has been molding, shaping, and preparing me to be used on this trip of a lifetime. A little about myself is that i first felt called to missions when i was in 7th grade on my first mission trip to Haiti. Following that trip i have been visiting Danita’s Orphanage in Ouanaminthe, Haiti every summer and i have made many relationships with the kids and the community that have changed me and helped me to grow closer with the Lord. I grew up in the church and got saved when i was in 4th grade, i am very active and involved with student and children’s ministry, i enjoy teaching and leading small groups with the kids. On friday nights my family hosts a bible study out of our home for youth kids all over the community. We provide snacks, worship, a sermon, and fellowship for kids on a Friday night. My best friends are Skylar Edmonds and Michael Sabo who grew up in the church with me, they are so amazing and have a great relationship with God. We are able to grow in the Lord together and keep each other accountable while making the best high school memories together. While in high school i started working, I have been working at a retirement home as a waitress since February of 2017 and i love it! The residents are amazing and you can learn so much from them, plus having a job for basically my entire high school career has helped me with time and money management. I feel more independent with having my own money and the responsibility of having a job. In school i am enrolled in the AICE program, i have been taking honor classes and earning college credits all four years. With taking this Gap year i will be attending college in the fall of 2020, i have yet to decide where i will be attending but i know wherever i go God will use me in great ways. i want to major in Psychology and get a minor in sometype of nursing program along with photography. As i feel called to missions i want to make sure i am prepared for whatever God is calling me too. My hobbies aren’t much as church, school and work take up most of my time but something i love to do is photography. I have a Canon Rebel T6 that i bought myself in my sophomore year and i love it! My favorite thing to photograph is nature, capturing the beauty of God’s wondrous creation. However I have also started doing portrait photography, mainly for my friends senior photos. I feel as though this gift may seem small but God can take the littlest things and use them in big ways to further His kingdom.
