Okay so I’m the last post about stoves I told y’all the logistical side of it now I’m gonna go into the ministry side of it.
So the families we build stoves for live in San Lorenzo and have been using usually an almost open flame to do all their cooking. The issue with this is that it is inside in an I closed area so they are breathing a lot of smoke, and not just the moms but also the kids. This causes a lot of lung damage and often the children die because of it. So the great thing about these stoves is they eliminate the smoke inside the home. So the moms and kids are no longer breathing in the smoke and can be healthier.
Sometimes we are providing a stove for a family who’s mother’s job is making tortillas. In this way we are providing a quicker, and more cost effective way for her to provide for her family.
Also after we install the stove we take time to ask the family how we can pray for them. This lets us get to know the family and helps us to be able to keep their specific needs in our prayers during our time here.
I absolutely love stove ministry, and can’t wait to do it some more.
