Well it’s been two months. a crazy two months, both horribly slow and overwhelming. I would love to say that the growth process has been easy or that the grieving is over, but that’s just not true. It comes in waves of sadness, confusion, and apathy all hitting at different times in different ways. But in the midst of all these feelings, I got an offer to reset and repurpose and I took it without hesitation.
In two weeks I am leaving again to do ministry in Asheville, North Carolina for a month. Growing up, when I thought of missions I thought of going to a third world country and bringing clean water, building a house, or something like that. But as I’ve gone abroad and have been sent home, this idea of missions only being overseas has been challenged over and over. While clean water and homes are beneficial, there is still a need here at home in the United States. There is homelessness. There is abuse. There is addiction. All of these exist in our own backyard. And it is our job as Jesus followers to proclaim that there is more.
With Jesus there is always more.
So here’s to changing lives through Jesus in Asheville, North Carolina!
