This month I’m staying with Enoc and Yannath Caballero. We arrived late Monday evening to their home in Mira Flores, Panama. We were greeted with big hugs and hot cups of tea. The first thing Enoc and Yannath told us was that their home is our home and that they are our Panamanian Parents. I thought this year was going to be a year feeling like I had no home, but the people I’ve been with have made me feel more at home than I could have ever imagined.

Yannath, my Panamanian mother, is 45 years old and was born in Monte Lirio, Panama. Enoc, my Panamanian father, is 49 years old and was born in Zombrano, Panama. Enoc and Yannath have been married for 24 years and have two children Abner and Libny. Abner is 14 and dreams of being a pilot one day. Libny is 20 and is studying to be a dentist. They have lived in their home for 17 years now, which was built by Yannath’s uncle. As you can tell everything is a family affair here.

Enoc’s father started their 80 acre coffee farm, Herca Internacional 365, 60 years ago. Enoc has worked on the coffee farm his entire life. He is passionate about keeping the coffee process organic and sustainable. Yannath went to university to study computer informations but has spent much of her life working on the farm before becoming a mother. Their favorite part about owning a coffee farm is that they get to expand the Gospel through their vision. The Caballero Family is committed to fulfilling their fathers vision of supporting missionaries all over the world. All of the profits of the farm support missionaries with a goal of 365 missionaries in the field.

Enoc and Yannath have been raised in the church their whole life. Enoc’s father was also a pastor. They both met the Lord as a young age. Enoc’s favorite chapter is Isaiah 41 and Yannath’s is Psalm 23. Their faith is very tangible in their daily profession. All they can do is plant the seed and trust the Lord to do the rest of the growing. So neither he who plants nor he who water is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 1 Corinthians 3:7

Last month I thanked the Lord for new friends this month I thank him for new family.
