“I used to think you had to be someone special for God to use you, but now I know you simply need to say yes.” – Bob Goff
So what exactly I’m saying yes to? The World Race. What is that you might ask…
The World Race is an 11 month 11 countries mission trip to serve “the least of these.” I will be leaving June 2019 right after I graduate from Queens University of Charlotte as a student athlete with a degree in Interior Architecture and Design. I will be traveling from Central America to Africa to Asia to spread the hope and love of Jesus Christ. Through The World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
I have no background in ministry or missionary work so as you can only imagine I feel way out of my league here. Last semester, I studied abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland and that changed everything for me. God showed me how beautiful life can be fully following Him. I have had the blessing to travel and see a lot of this world, which just sets my heart on fire. God has given me a heart for the world that I just can’t seem to ignore. You find your life when you give it away to serve and I am ready to continue to find mine in Jesus and in his Kingdom that is yet to come.
I believe God does not call the qualified he qualifies the called. So here I am scared, excited, nervous, optimistic, and just saying yes to this adventure my sweet friend Jesus has graciously invited me on. I hope and pray you come along with me on this journey!!
