Today was a day of many “lasts.” It was my last cheer practice as assistant coach of the Novi Christian Academy Varsity Cheer Team, my last choir rehearsal, and my last time seeing many friends and family for a few months. Tomorrow, my last day home, will be filled with many more as well.

My last night at choir practice was the most special night ever, and one I will carry in my heart for as long as I can. It reminds me of the story of the Widows Offering in the Bible: Many rich people were throwing large amounts of money into the temple treasury, yet a poor widow came down and put in two small copper coins which were only worth a few cents. Jesus said “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything- all she had to live on.” Although it may not have been valued to everybody, it meant so much to Jesus that she gave all she had.

My choir family joined together to bless me one last time tonight through prayer and donations. The emotions and presence of the Lord I felt tonight was unlike anything I’ve ever felt. The prayers being said over me reached my heart and the extra donations I received were an answered prayer! Those donations will help me reach so many and bless their lives with the Good News. It all counts. Every single dollar, it will take me so far!! Probably more than half the people that donated to me tonight didn’t bring that cash with thethought of giving it away. They gave what they had! Some gave me even just a single dollar because it was literally all they had on them, and that just brought me to tears. That money will truly serve the Kingdom in such a mighty way! I do not talk about these donations in a boastful or bragging way, I talk about it to give all the glory to Jesus for answering my prayer and to show how He truly is a MIRACLE WORKER!!

I am so honored and so excited to have this opportunity to be the Lord’s disciple. Thank you to my choir family for sending me out as your missionary, your sister, your daughter, your friend. Thank you for your prayers and for taking me in as one of your own! I am so blessed to be part of such a wonderful family in Christ.

With so much love, Rachel <3
